cDc announcing "Veilid" distributed/private app framework at DefCon

Yep, Cult of the Dead Cow. They’re still at it. This time it’s a cross-platform E2EE peer-to-peer protocol for building private applications, written in Rust, no blockchains. Scant on details right now but it’s going to be open sourced and I’m excited to see what they’ve cooked up.

To me it sounds similar in scope to Locutus, the WIP successor to Freenet.

I laughed at DilDog’s bio

DilDog is a staunch believer that if you want to change the present you need to build the future, and is very sorry for having helped create “InfoSec” from hacking, and would like to undo the damage.
